Honor Lodge

The Honor Lodge Award was established in order to recognize the current year’s premier lodge in the Section. This award is given to the lodge that obtains the most points throughout the year as identified below. This award is separated into three categories: general, participation and competitions. Each lodge will be required to submit the Honor Lodge Service Form to the Section Recognitions Chairman no later than the Friday evening Council of Chiefs (COC) meeting at Conclave for the service portion of this award. Each lodge will be allowed to review their individual point tallies during the Saturday evening COC at Conclave. 

General 

  1. Achieve Performance Measurement Program Standards (PMP Standards for a lodge can be found on the National OA site):
    1. Thriving (75)
      • Must earn at least 16 grand points, of which at least 8 must be from primary objectives.
    2. High Performing (85)
      • Must earn at least 24 grand points, of which at least 12 must be from primary objectives.
  2. NLS Participation when offered (25) 
  3. Percent of Lodge membership attending Conclave (10)
    1. Awarded by percentage of goal completed – rounding down to the nearest 10% and treating each 10% as a milestone. Percentage of goal completed is multiplied by 10 to get points.
      1. Example: Lodge reaches 68% of their attendance goal, so they are awarded 60% of the total 10 points, thus the lodge receives 6 points.

    3. Attendance goal based off of goal of 1200 people in attendance at the 2019 Conclave: (first 8% of total 1200 is allotted to the service lodge = 96), Tsoiotsi Tsogalii (207), Occoneechee (403), Croatan (118), Wahissa (196), Nayawin Rar (72), Klahican (204).
  4. Service to Council 
    1. Based upon man-hours (Man-hours = hours of service divided by lodge membership)
      1. 1-5 (10)
      2. 5-10 (25)
      3. 10-15 (50)
      4. 16+ (75) 
  5. Service to Community 
    1. Based upon man-hours (Man-hours = hours of service divided by lodge membership)
      1. 1-5 (10)

  6. National High Adventure Programs
    1. 20 points will be awarded by sending one Arrowman to any of the following programs, not 20 points per program.
      1. (OA Trail Crew, OA Wilderness Voyage, OA Ocean Adventure, OA Canadian Odyssey, OA Summit Experience) 
  7. Canned Food Drive
    1. First Place (10)

Section Activities 

  1. Apensuwi E-Newsletter articles submitted to Section Secretary on time (5) 
  2. Fall Council of Chiefs participation
    1. All members of Lodge Key 3 must be present (5) 
  3. Lodge program responsibilities submitted to Section VC of Program on-time (5)
  4. Copy of Lodge Charter renewal submitted to Section Adviser on time (5)
  5. Copy of Lodge calendar submitted to Section Secretary on time (5)
  6. Founders Award recipients submitted to Section Recognitions Chairman (5)
  7. Participation in Section training of emphasis (5)
    1. Participation in Section Training with 10 or more lodge members
      • If less than 10 people attend, then the number of members will be taken as a percentage and multiplied by the total points available.

Conclave Activities 

  1. Assigned A-List activities completed (10) 
  2. Lodge participation in Ceremony Competition (10) 
  3. Lodge participation in Team Dance or Team Singing Competition (10) 
  4. Lodge participation in Quest for the Golden Arrow (10) 
  5. Friday evening Council of Chiefs participation 
    1. All members of Key 3 must be present (5) 
  6. Lodge participation in Individual Dance Competition (5)
    1. (At least one dancer must enter, but points are not given per dancer)
